John Cena Announces Classic Tournament Date and Belt
John Cena made three major announcements during a live event in New York City while wearing a new "Never Give Up" t-shirt. He revealed that the John Cena Classic tournament is scheduled for December 14 at Disney World in Orlando.
The tournament will pit WWE wrestlers against rising NXT stars and will air as a second edition of Raw following the first live show from Perth, Australia. Cena then presented the new John Cena Classic Championship belt that will be awarded to the tournament winner.
The belt incorporates Cena's logo and pays homage to his classic spinner belt. Cody Rhodes was introduced as the first confirmed participant in the tournament. Additional participants will be chosen through votes from fans who join the new paid Club WWE membership program, which provides ticket deals, exclusive merchandise and other benefits.
