Yota Tsuji Responds to Callum Newman's Strong Style Criticism
“So I honestly appreciate that, you know, the guys like Callum Newman, who does all kinds of athletic moves, kind of questions, you know, the recent kind of movement in the New Japan roster that we are kind of, going towards more of the traditional moves, rather than these acrobatic, athletic moves.— Yota Tsuji

Yota Tsuji has responded to Callum Newman's criticism of the new era of strong style in NJPW. Tsuji stated he does not question his own approach and appreciates the differing perspectives within the roster. Newman, the leader of United Empire, had questioned the recent movement toward traditional moves instead of acrobatic and athletic ones, targeting both Tsuji and Yuta-Ice. Tsuji addressed the comments during an interview with Fightful’s In The Weeds.

The IWGP Heavyweight Champion pointed out that each member of the NJPW roster possesses their own unique fighting style. He noted that Newman expresses himself through all kinds of athletic moves. Tsuji explained that everyone on the roster shares the same goal of securing a win. He said he cannot question himself regarding what strong style is and believes no one, including himself, has a definite answer.

According to Tsuji, the core idea is that a wrestler must win in the end. Tsuji said he accepts Newman's comment and understands the reason behind it. He added that it is positive for everyone to have their own unique style while all striving to secure the win in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
