TKO Updates WWE Legal Proceedings

TKO released updates on WWE legal proceedings as part of its quarterly earnings filing with the SEC.

A Special Committee of independent WWE board members was formed in June 2022 to investigate alleged misconduct by then-CEO Vincent K. McMahon. The investigation has concluded, and McMahon resigned from his positions as Executive Chair, board member, and other roles at TKO and its subsidiaries in January 2024. No charges have been brought against the company.

On January 25, 2024, a former WWE employee filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut against WWE, McMahon, and former executive John Laurinaitis. The suit alleged sexual assault by McMahon and Laurinaitis and included claims under the Trafficking Victims Protection Act.

Laurinaitis was dismissed from the case with prejudice on May 30, 2025. WWE sought to compel arbitration, and the remaining parties agreed to submit the dispute to arbitration. The former employee filed a stipulation of voluntary dismissal with prejudice of the federal lawsuit on July 24, 2026.

On October 23, 2024, five unnamed plaintiffs filed a lawsuit in Maryland court against McMahon, Linda McMahon, WWE, and TKO. The suit alleged sexual abuse by a former World Wrestling Federation ring announcer in the 1980s.

The plaintiffs filed an amended complaint on April 28, 2025, adding three unnamed plaintiffs but no new defendants. On December 10, 2025, the court dismissed claims by one unnamed plaintiff and certain claims against Linda McMahon but otherwise denied the defendants' motions to dismiss.
