Sami Zayn Earns WWE Title Opportunity

Sami Zayn has earned a shot at the men's Crown Jewel title by winning the WWE Championship. The 42-year-old defeated CM Punk to capture the gold on a September episode of SmackDown that took place in Mexico City. Zayn has gone on to defend the WWE Title successfully against Kevin Owens, Je'Von Evans, and Trick Williams. Williams was the latest challenger, falling to the champion on last week's SmackDown.

Zayn is currently enjoying what many describe as the run of his life. He has delivered consistently strong showings each week across all aspects of his presentation. Prior to this year Zayn had held the Intercontinental Title, the United States Title, and enjoyed a 154-day reign as a tag team champion. At that June event Zayn overcame both Cody Rhodes and Gunther to claim his first world title.
