Sami Zayn Calls WrestleMania 38 Knoxville Bout A Career Favorite

Sami Zayn faced Johnny Knoxville in an Anything Goes match at WrestleMania 38 in Knoxville. The bout mixed comedy and violence with Zayn getting pinned after Knoxville released a giant mousetrap on him. Zayn told Insight With Chris Van Vliet that the match remains one of his personal favorites from his entire wrestling career.
He explained that the contest could only have worked with him and Knoxville and that no other pairing would have produced the same result. Zayn noted that everything that happened in the match was what he liked most about it.
He described the performance as a wrestling match where Knoxville's Jackass stunts replaced traditional moves but served the same purpose. Knoxville was joined by several of his Jackass co-stars who assisted in sliding out the giant mousetrap used on Zayn.
Zayn said he still hates Knoxville four years later while maintaining kayfabe. The now Undisputed WWE Champion called Knoxville the perfect opponent for that specific WrestleMania scenario.
