Booker T Says He Avoided WWE Locker Room Heat

“Nah, I never got heat. I always understood, you know, the locker room etiquette and stuff like that.— Booker T
Booker T joined WWE after a successful run in WCW following the promotion's closure. While many wrestlers from WCW faced burial or humiliation upon arriving in WWE, Booker T along with Rey Mysterio and Goldberg saw their careers prosper in the new company.
Booker T stated that despite the potential for locker room heat from being part of the WCW roster for years, he never encountered any such issues in WWE. During an episode of his "The Hall of Fame" podcast, Booker T said, "Nah, I never got heat."
He explained that he always understood locker room etiquette and positioned himself as one of the guys that others could turn to. Booker T added that he was outspoken and that backstage heat did not concern him since the locker room was not responsible for paying him.
He noted, "I always thought if I didn't got heat with the boss, I was okay, and I don't remember ever getting heat with the boss." Booker T described how a bully would continue messing with someone only if they did not fight back, and he criticized the idea that backstage heat was debated because many wrestlers feared calling it out due to worries about being fired.
He expressed frustration at wrestlers who kept locker room hazing secret out of fear of termination, pointing out that they typically ended up getting fired for unrelated reasons anyway.
