Leon Slater Credits WWE NXT Run For TNA World Title Success

Leon Slater discussed the significant impact his time in WWE NXT had on his professional wrestling career. The current TNA World Champion captured the title at TNA Bound For Glory. Slater made appearances in WWE NXT last year and earlier this year.

In a new interview with The Extreme Channel, Slater stated that he would not be the TNA World Champion without his run in WWE NXT. He explained that WWE reached out to TNA, leading to his opportunity there rather than him initiating contact.

Slater described his NXT experience as feeling like he had been working there for two or three years despite not signing a deal. He noted that he used the opportunity to gain a platform, exposure, and countless lessons which he applied back in TNA.

Slater emphasized that the lessons from NXT and a couple of main roster appearances have been invaluable to him. He rejected the idea of TNA being merely a stepping stone, instead calling the relationship a true partnership. Slater pointed out that TNA talent gets to learn a complete style in NXT while WWE performers come to TNA to work with veterans such as Nic Nemeth, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, and Frankie Kazarian who have decades of experience.
