Amazing Red Inspired By Leon Slater's TNA World Title Win
“Again, it was something that was not foreseen in my league, but I saw Leon capture it and brought it, I would be like this [waves], hey, I would like to be next for sure.— Amazing Red
Leon Slater captured the TNA World Championship by defeating Nic Nemeth in the final title change at Bound For Glory. This victory inspired veteran wrestler Amazing Red, who had earlier won the vacant X-Division Championship on the same show. In a new interview with The Wrestling Classic, Amazing Red admitted that pursuing the TNA World Heavyweight Championship was not something he had anticipated. He stated that seeing Slater succeed motivated him to improve and consider chasing the top prize himself.
Amazing Red specifically highlighted Slater's youth and wisdom, noting that the young champion's achievement made him believe he could also win the world title. He added that he plans to proceed gradually, first focusing on holding the X-Division title, which he described as difficult to retain at the moment.
Slater had vacated the X-Division Championship to earn his opportunity at the TNA World title during Bound For Glory. Amazing Red expressed that witnessing someone like Slater claim the championship encourages him to try the same path step by step.
The veteran also referenced his own comments from October about potentially convincing AJ Styles to come out of retirement, though he emphasized taking things little by little in his current pursuit.
