Buddy Matthews Pulled From WSW Australian Tour
Buddy Matthews has been removed from World Series Wrestling's upcoming MegaMania tour due to scheduling conflicts. The promotion announced on Sunday via Instagram that the AEW star will no longer appear on the events. World Series Wrestling expressed disappointment over Matthews' absence but stated they understand that schedules can change and hope to welcome him back on a future tour.
Matthews had been announced for the tour back in May, which was set to include a show in New Zealand and four nights in Australia. It would have marked his first wrestling matches since suffering an ankle injury in February 2025 at AEW Grand Slam Australia.
The injury occurred during his entrance for a match against Kazuchika Okada and required surgery. Matthews made a surprise appearance for World Series Wrestling in May to set up the now-canceled appearances. The MegaMania tour is scheduled to begin on October 29 and run through November 2.
AEW is currently in St. Louis, Missouri for its Fright Night Dynamite episode on Wednesday, October 28, with next Saturday's Collision also being taped that night.
