Big Cass says Enzo link complicated his WWE return
“But yes, it makes it way more difficult than having a clean slate. Especially because when news came out of me signing with WWE, it immediately got linked to him. ‘They’re coming back together. They’re going to be running it back together.’ A lot of podcasts ran with that story, and people believed it. So then I come back on my own, and some people are like, ‘Wait, what?’ So it kind of made it a little difficult but I think so far I’ve done a pretty damn good job in the situation I’m in, getting booed out of buildings, which is really the goal.— Big Cass
Big Cass discussed how his past association with Enzo Amore complicated his return to WWE. He noted that the pairing had been extremely popular with fans when he served as a heater for Amore. Cass explained that news of his signing immediately led to speculation that the duo would reunite.
He said many podcasts promoted the idea that they would be working together again and audiences believed it. Cass stated that returning as a solo act therefore created confusion with some fans asking what had changed. He added that the situation made his comeback more difficult than starting with a clean slate.
Cass remarked that he has handled the challenge well so far by getting booed out of buildings which is his goal as a monster heel. He is now working alongside Ethan Page after being booked in that role.
