Trey Miguel Recalls Making Jason Hotch Pay For TNA Gut Check

Trey Miguel trained Jason Hotch starting in 2019 at his wrestling school. Hotch won the 2022 TNA Gut Check tryout program, which grants winners a contract with the promotion. TNA had reserved five free entry slots in the Gut Check for Miguel's students.

Miguel required Hotch to pay out of pocket for his Gut Check opportunity instead of using one of the free slots. Miguel made this decision because he believed Hotch would win and wanted him to be able to say he achieved it without any assistance.

Miguel waited anxiously with D'Lo Brown for the results and learned of Hotch's victory through a call from another student. Miguel described Hotch as an unsung hero in TNA and highlighted his growth from zero to hero. Miguel expressed a desire for a TNA World Championship match against Hotch, noting that he believes Hotch has earned it and that everyone in the locker room enjoys his work.

The two wrestlers had a singles match in Brampton, Ontario a couple of months ago that lasted about 20 minutes and earned two standing ovations.
