The Miz Defends WWE Booking Of GUNTHER

GUNTHER has retired Goldberg, John Cena and AJ Styles over the past year and a half. Despite that record, the former World Heavyweight Champion has recently been placed in a storyline with the comedic character Danhausen. That booking drew criticism from GUNTHER's former rival Ilja Dragunov and others.
The Miz appeared on Busted Open Radio on Monday and defended WWE's current usage of GUNTHER. The Miz stated that he cannot stand a monster who is just one note and that the current storyline gives GUNTHER another layer of hatred in a completely different way.
The Miz added that GUNTHER's matches against AJ Styles and John Cena were incredible and unbelievable. The Miz said the Danhausen storyline represents a test for GUNTHER to prove he can still make everything look real, effortless and technical while remaining menacing without simply being a one-dimensional monster.
The Miz concluded by saying he loves layers to a character. GUNTHER has been feuding with Finn Balor at the same time as the Danhausen storyline. Balor brought back his Demon persona to face GUNTHER on last week's episode of SmackDown.
