Shawn Michaels Explains Zilla Fatu's NXT Signing

“Well, so I knew about him from Booker T, it was probably a couple years ago, you know, Booker had mentioned him, and obviously everything has to, you know, run through a big chain of command around here. But there were some issues up front, and we needed to obviously also to give him time and see his development— Shawn MichaelsShowWWE NXTLatest results, card & news →
Shawn Michaels discussed the signing of Zilla Fatu to WWE during an appearance on Busted Open. Michaels said he first learned about Fatu a couple of years ago through Booker T, who had trained him and spoke positively about his abilities.
He noted that unnamed issues delayed Fatu's move to WWE, requiring time to observe his development. Michaels explained that he typically sees only brief social media clips of incoming wrestlers, which showed Fatu's personality and energy. The Hall of Famer expressed belief in Fatu's potential due to the talent, passion, humor, fire and tenacity found throughout his family, known as the Samoan dynasty or The Bloodline.
Michaels added that behind the scenes members of that family are often funny and witty, qualities not always visible publicly. He stated that now that Fatu has joined NXT, the team can help him for the long term, particularly by improving his promos and learning to handle two or three segments.
