Ricky Morton Reveals Instagram Hack
Ricky Morton announced that his Instagram account was hacked and taken out of his control. The WWE Hall of Famer shared the news through a post on his Facebook account. Morton stated he honestly cannot believe the hack occurred to his account @Thebabyface_ricky_morton and that he is now fighting to regain access.
He reported receiving zero emails from Instagram about his two-factor authentication with no warning or notification that could have helped protect the account. Morton added that he has received absolutely no meaningful support from Meta during the incident. He disclosed that an email he received is supposedly from the hacker who will return the Instagram account if he pays $350 in cryptocurrency as part of the recovery process.
Morton described the entire situation as incredibly frustrating after years of building a platform to connect with fans, share memories, promote wrestling events, and communicate with people worldwide. He called it heartbreaking to experience this with no one to turn to for help and asked for someone at Instagram or Meta to step in and assist with recovering the account.
Morton requested that anyone with a legitimate contact who can bring the matter to the right people should help him. He thanked everyone who has reached out for their support and warned followers not to click any links or send money if they see anything suspicious from the hacked account.
Morton emphasized that he has spent decades building relationships with wrestling fans and will not let this stop him from connecting with them.
