Mini Vikingo sidelined with elbow injury

Mini Vikingo and his partner Hall advanced past Channing Lorenzo and Uriah Connor in a tournament match. They were then defeated by NXT Tag Team Champions Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes in the quarterfinals.

On Tuesday's edition of the show, Vanity Project spoke with NXT General Manager Robert Stone. Stone informed them that Mini Vikingo's injury would prevent the team from competing in a scheduled six-man tag team match that night.

Backstage reports at the Performance Center indicated that the AAA star is dealing with an elbow issue. The severity of the injury and the expected time away from action were not specified.

It remained unclear whether there were any immediate future NXT plans for Mini Vikingo, either with or without Hall, beyond the canceled six-man tag match.

Prior to the injury, Mini Vikingo won a four-way match against Jack Cartwheel, Joaquin Wilde, and Nobu San on the October 3 edition of AAA to become the number one contender for the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship.

He is scheduled to challenge Rey Fenix for the title during week two of AAA Heroes Inmortales on October 31. AAA has not commented on the potential injury on social media.
