Jimmy House Shares Dustin Rhodes' Early Career Advice

“On the indies, like at ROW, it started to really get over.— Jimmy House

Jimmy House believes that succeeding in wrestling requires the ability to perform any role presented. He has achieved considerable success as part of The Mog Squad faction. The group has competed outside of WWE EVOLVE for promotions including Reality Of Wrestling and Coastal Championship Wrestling.

In a recent interview with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp, House discussed his experiences working with the group and expressed that he was prepared for that phase of his career. He noted that the Mog Squad act began gaining traction on the independents like at ROW, where crowds started performing the group's sign and showing interest as he made his entrance. House acknowledged building momentum with the faction.

House admitted an initial hesitation about the heel role due to his goal of being a hero for kids. He explained that professional wrestling often demands versatility in performing as both heel and babyface. House added that many wrestlers have thrived as heels before transitioning into stronger babyface characters.

Specifically regarding the Mog Squad, House said it was the first time he had worked in that style and that the associated community was not one he naturally connected with. He stated that he gave his best effort despite this.

House also recounted advice from early in his career involving Dustin Rhodes. He recalled Rhodes being given the Goldust concept, needing to research the term androgynous, and ultimately transforming it into an iconic character that made him a legend. House viewed the Mog Squad opportunity similarly as something opposite to his natural style.

House said he aimed to enjoy the experience as much as possible. He observed that becoming a good professional wrestler involves being a strong worker, noting that the term worker carries multiple definitions.
