Opera Cup Tournament Advances on MLW Fusion
The Opera Cup tournament continued during an MLW Fusion episode taped at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.
Diego Hill faced Ichiban Kozone in a back and forth opening match. Hill used aerial maneuvers including a rana, springboard forearm, and a flip dive to the floor.
Kozone countered with slams, a Tazplex, an overhead throw suplex, and a Burning Hammer. He ultimately pinned Hill after a lariat to advance in the tournament.
Footage aired of Yota Tsuji issuing an open challenge from a New Japan ring. Trevor Lee was announced as his opponent for the Chicago pay per view on November 7.
ZAMAYA was interrupted during an interview by MLW Women's Champion Shotzi Blackheart. Blackheart thanked ZAMAYA for her assistance, but ZAMAYA stated she had simply chosen her own prey before walking away.
MLW National Openweight Champion Austin Aries claimed there was no remaining competition in the Opera Cup and that others were only competing for runner up. Matt Riddle confronted him and issued another challenge, which Aries attempted to dismiss.
