Ilja Dragunov Calls Gunther A Future GOAT
“Gunther [is] a dear friend of mine since, I don't know, [since] 2015. Like, so for such a long time, no other person in professional wrestling forged me more than he.— Ilja Dragunov
Ilja Dragunov has credited his peers for his rise in professional wrestling, naming WWE's Gunther as one of the all-time greats. Dragunov and Gunther both advanced through the German promotion wXw where they frequently wrestled one another. Dragunov described Gunther as a dear friend since 2015 and said no other person in professional wrestling has forged him more.
He called Gunther a mastermind who will be regarded as one of the greatest of all time when he retires. Dragunov stated that all of his biggest peaks of progression occurred when he faced Gunther. He explained that Gunther's directness without sugarcoating provided the best enhancement of his talents and strengths.
Gunther had predicted in 2024 that Dragunov could become the next big thing on the main roster. Dragunov's main roster run ultimately lasted two years.
