Ex-WWE Exec Says 2019 Saudi Plane Delay Was Exaggerated

“I don’t know what the right phrase — I think it was exaggerated to some degree.— George Barrios
Former WWE co-president George Barrios reflected on the 2019 plane delay in Saudi Arabia following Crown Jewel while appearing on My World with Jeff Jarrett and Conrad Thompson. He recalled that issues like this are not as uncommon as fans would think and shared an example from a different country.
In that undisclosed country an airport fee was instituted and the promotion was told they had to pay it to leave. Barrios said the situation reached his desk and he responded by instructing the team to pay the fee so they could come home.
He added that it was then the law in that country and they obeyed it while rejecting any potential violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Barrios clarified that he was not saying the Saudi Arabia incident was exactly the same as the other delay and noted there was a delay and then they got out.
