Dave Meltzer Details CMLL's High Regard For Claudio Castagnoli

Dave Meltzer reported that CMLL personnel were impressed with Claudio Castagnoli's performance during his visits. Castagnoli would fly in for singles matches and maintain his energy throughout without getting tired.

Mexican wrestlers typically do not fatigue easily due to competing in the high altitude of Arena Mexico. Many American wrestlers struggle to adapt to those conditions.

Castagnoli adapted well to the environment in Arena Mexico and achieved success there. He won the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship last fall and held the title for several months.

Castagnoli also participated in the CMLL International Gran Prix alongside Hechicero. The two wrestled the full match, which lasted just under 74 minutes.

CMLL's high regard for Castagnoli is reciprocated by his respect for the promotion. He became the first AEW star to sign a dual contract with AEW and CMLL in March.

In a recent interview, Castagnoli named Arena Mexico as his favorite venue in which to wrestle.
