Darren Young Returns to WWE as Performance Center Coach

Former WWE Tag Team Champion Darren Young, whose real name is Fred Rosser, has returned to the company as a coach at the Performance Center. Young made the announcement on social media earlier today, revealing he is back with WWE in this new role.

He had been with WWE from 2009 until his release in October 2017. Young participated in the first season of NXT and made his main roster debut in 2010 as a member of The Nexus. On X, Young described the development as a full-circle moment, noting that nine years to the day after his release he is now back at NXT.

He stated he is fighting back tears of joy every time he pulls up to the Performance Center and is grateful for the chance to give back to the next generation of wrestlers. Young added that he is now able to see for himself what WWE is looking for and plans to absorb as much as possible from the environment.

He recalled once training alongside incredible coaches in that same setting before quickly advancing to the main roster, and said he is now sharing those experiences to help shape the future. Young reminded everyone that he was part of the original NXT, signing off as Mr. No Days Off and declaring it is time to go to work.
