Conrad Thompson Recalls Ultimate Warrior Belt Scam Attempt
“So I was introduced to him through his website. He had a bunch of photos up there, and there was a photo that was no longer linked, but he claimed it was the SummerSlam 1990 belt that he wore against Ravishing Rick Rude.— Conrad Thompson
Conrad Thompson revealed in an interview that he once tried to purchase authentic wrestling title belts from The Ultimate Warrior. Thompson was introduced to Warrior through his website which featured photos of the items. Thompson sent the pictures to legendary title belt maker Dave Millican for verification.
Millican confirmed that the belt in the photo was not the ring-used belt from that event. When Thompson emailed Warrior about the finding, Warrior insisted it was the actual belt and said Thompson's buddy did not know what he was talking about.
Thompson then told Warrior he was interested in the yellow Intercontinental belt and the World title from WrestleMania 6. The two agreed on a deal for both belts that involved Thompson bringing cash to meet Warrior at an airport. Thompson asked Millican to accompany him to authenticate the purchase as he had done previously with the Big Gold Belt.
Millican informed Thompson that Warrior had sold the Intercontinental belt years earlier and it was now on the shelf of a private collector. When Thompson confronted Warrior with that information, Warrior sent him a photo of the collector's items. Thompson noted that sharing another person's collection photo violated unwritten rules in that world.
