Chris Sabin Targets AEW Tag Titles With MCMG

Chris Sabin has stated that winning the AEW World Tag Team Championship is the main objective for Motor City Machine Guns in the promotion. Sabin and Alex Shelley returned to AEW in July 2026 after a four-year absence. Sabin indicated that capturing the titles would make them the first team to hold tag team gold in AEW, WWE, TNA, and NJPW.

Sabin discussed a segment at All In that brought together several top AEW tag teams including Motor City Machine Guns, The Young Bucks, FTR, and the team of Christian Cage and Adam Copeland. He highlighted the longstanding history between Motor City Machine Guns and The Young Bucks, noting they have faced each other across multiple promotions including TNA, independent shows, and PWG.

Motor City Machine Guns and The Young Bucks are described as having strong in-ring chemistry from their previous matches. Sabin expressed a strong desire to reignite that rivalry inside AEW and face The Young Bucks above all other teams in the promotion.

FTR is currently engaged in a best-of-five series against Motor City Machine Guns that stands tied at one win apiece. Sabin suggested that prevailing in the series could position Motor City Machine Guns for a title opportunity against The Young Bucks.
