Callum Newman Reveals Shoulder Pop During G1 Match With Aaron Wolf

“He gave me one of those judo throws and it popped- not popped out but I felt it move and then I felt this bolt of electricity down my arm.— Callum Newman
Callum Newman entered the G1 Climax tournament with a dislocated shoulder that he suffered at NJPW Dominion. He competed in every match despite the injury and advanced all the way to the semifinals. Newman faced Aaron Wolf in his seventh match of the tournament. During the bout Wolf hit him with a judo throw that caused his shoulder to pop.
Newman described feeling the shoulder move and then experiencing a bolt of electricity down his arm. He noted that the injury was concerning heading into his next matches. In the match immediately before the semifinal Newman was put through a table. He lost the semifinal to Ryohei Oiwa, who excels at armdrags and arm holds.
Newman said he would have preferred facing an opponent with a style closer to his own that involves running and throwing kicks. Wolf defeated Newman in their G1 encounter. On the final night of block action Newman defeated HENARE. That victory allowed him to reach the semifinal stage of the tournament.
