Paul Walter Hauser Exits MLW Over Creative Differences

Paul Walter Hauser announced on Instagram that he has parted ways with Major League Wrestling due to creative differences. The Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor said goodbye to the MLW family late last week. He made his MLW debut in 2024 against Tom Lawlor and last competed at the Fusion TV tapings in September.

Hauser noted that Sami Callihan introduced him to Court Bauer, who provided him an opportunity starting at Battle Riot 6. He stated that he learned about improving his in-ring work, producing and directing backstage segments, and understanding environmental and situational behaviors in the wrestling business.

Hauser reflected that he did not believe any of his best matches occurred in MLW but gave his best effort with the available resources. He mentioned contributing by securing MLW writeups in the Wall Street Journal, having clips featured on Jimmy Kimmel Live, bringing snacks for craft service, providing on-site empanadas for catering, and having his videographer Caleb Wall assist with equipment purchases.

Hauser also pitched the MLW product to people in Hollywood and hoped he added value to the promotion's culture while creating memorable moments for fans such as diving off a ladder at Battle Riot onto BRG, delivering promos to provoke or amuse the audience, and turning on his former tag partner Paul London.
