Zack Sabre Jr. Recalls Shibata's 2021 NJPW Return Reaction
“I’ve never experienced anything like the silent gasp of when the first bars of his theme music played where it was like, I felt in sync with the audience. That epitomized the power of pro wrestling.— Zack Sabre Jr.
During the 2021 G1 Climax, Zack Sabre Jr. faced Katsuyori Shibata in an exhibition match on day 19. Shibata had not appeared in NJPW since 2017. While appearing on CMLL’s Esto es Lucha Podcast, Sabre Jr. described the silent audience gasp when Shibata’s music hit under COVID restrictions as unlike anything he had experienced before and said it showed the power of pro wrestling.
