Xelina Reveals Abandoned WWE Title Plan With Zoey Stark

Xelina discussed a plan that she and Chelsea Green pitched together involving Zoey Stark. The idea called for Stark to interfere in a rematch for the Women's United States Title the week after Xelina won it.

In the proposed sequence Stark was to attack Xelina severely after the title changed hands back to Green. This was intended to generate sympathy for Xelina as a babyface and give her a clear storyline to pursue.

The pitch was later brought up by Brian James on the Netflix series WWE: Unreal. James received criticism for the suggestion, though it originated from the plan that Xelina and Green had developed.

Xelina had entered the title match knowing the creative intention was for her to win and then lose the championship shortly afterward. The actual booking kept the title on her longer than planned.

Xelina noted that the positive audience reaction to her title win influenced the decision to retain the championship on her. She had hoped to demonstrate the title's importance to heighten the impact of eventually losing it.
