Will Ospreay Calls Out Absent MJF Over Title Belt

Will Ospreay questioned Tony Khan about the situation with the absent MJF and the AEW title belt during a recent interaction. Ospreay pointed out the existence of a governing body responsible for handling the titles and expressed frustration that someone could simply appear with the belt. Khan responded by noting that MJF had not shown up at all.

Ospreay agreed that MJF appeared to be hiding and invited him to come forward if he wanted to determine who the real champion is. MJF has not been present in AEW since All In, where he failed to secure a guaranteed World Title shot in the Casino Gauntlet match won by Andrade El Idolo.

Following that event, MJF has focused on New Japan Pro Wrestling. He called out G1 Climax winner Ryohei Oiwa for a match and stated his intention to defend what he considers the actual AEW World Title.

Despite his activities elsewhere, expectations remain that MJF will return to AEW before the end of the year. His anticipated return is expected to restart his rivalry with Ospreay.

MJF previously defeated Ospreay to capture the AEW International Championship on an episode of Dynamite in 2024. Ospreay then regained the title from him at All In.
