Taichi Challenges Gabe Kidd For IWGP Global Title

Gabe Kidd defended the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship against Shota Umino at New Japan Pro-Wrestling's King of Pro-Wrestling event on October 12. The match marked Kidd's second defense during his current reign with the title.
Late in the contest, Kidd delivered a clothesline to Umino for a two-count before locking in the Brutalizer submission hold. He secured the victory and retained the championship.
Following the match, Kidd called for the next challenger. Taichi then entered the ring and declared his intention to face him for the title.
Kidd accepted the challenge and scheduled the title match for the Power Struggle event on November 3.
