Steve Maclin Calls Matt Cardona Close Friend and Advisor

Steve Maclin and Matt Cardona shared the ring during an episode of TNA Impact in April 2025. Maclin recalled a conversation the two had while walking around Epcot during a Disney Day outing. Cardona expressed that he was pumped for Maclin and inquired about the condition of his ankle.

Maclin stated that he and Cardona operate on the same level where they know they will deliver strong performances without needing to instruct each other. The pair share a respect factor from working together in the ring, according to Maclin.

Maclin expressed that he believes he and Cardona had significant potential for more matches in TNA that ultimately did not happen. He described a possible future feud between them as awesome because he loved working with Cardona. Maclin called Cardona one of his close friends outside of wrestling and someone he turns to for advice.
