Saudi Airport Attack Kills One Ahead of WWE Crown Jewel

An attack struck King Fahd International Airport in Dammam on Wednesday night. The country's General Authority of Civil Aviation confirmed one person was killed and eight others were injured. Damage to airport property was also reported.
Dammam is an eastern coastal city in Saudi Arabia along the Persian Gulf. It ranks as the fifth-most populous region in the country.
Saudi Arabia has faced multiple attacks in recent weeks. Many of the incidents have been claimed by the Iran-backed Houthis.
Riyadh International Airport has faced heavy restrictions following a series of attacks. One such attack resulted in 13 deaths and over 300 injuries.
The country remains under attack days before hosting major combat sports and wrestling events. Canelo Alvarez is set to face Christian Mbilli in Riyadh on October 31. WWE is scheduled to hold its Crown Jewel event in the city the following week.
Non-emergency staff at the U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia were ordered to leave the country.
