Samantha Irvin Hits Free Agency This Month

Samantha Irvin, now known as Samantha Johnson, will become a free agent this month. She departed WWE in October 2024 and was subject to a lengthy non-compete clause rather than the standard 90-day termination period given to many other talents.

Her contract had permitted her to leave at any time. However, failing to complete her three-year term triggered a two-year non-compete. Unlike released performers who typically receive pay during their termination period, Irvin did not receive such compensation.

Discussions have taken place about Irvin potentially joining AEW. She will not be making an immediate move to the promotion despite her husband Ricochet being part of the roster.

Following her exit from WWE, Irvin expressed dissatisfaction with her role as a ring announcer. She indicated interest in working as a manager or in another on-screen capacity.

Irvin has concentrated on her music career since leaving WWE. She has released several singles, including the track "Make Me."
