Roman Reigns Explains His Limited Live Event Schedule
“it doesn't make sense for me to do live events anymore— Roman Reigns

WWE has reduced the number of live events in 2024 and 2025. The schedule for 2026 includes main roster tours during the winter, summer, and fall months.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns will maintain his current limited live event schedule despite the increase in overall events. He addressed the decision in a recent interview.

Reigns stated that television rights deals involve substantial financial stakes for Mondays, Fridays, and premium live events. He explained that risking injury at smaller live events no longer makes sense given those amounts.

He noted that he must now conserve his performances rather than wrestle in front of crowds of only a few thousand. Reigns added that live event repetitions remain important for developing skills in front of fresh audiences each night.

During his early years with WWE, Reigns worked between 150 and 200 shows annually, which helped him develop necessary in-ring abilities. He believes current rising stars can gain similar experience through their own live event work.

Reigns has followed a part-time schedule with WWE since 2022. He has appeared more regularly on programming since winning the world title at WrestleMania 42 and retained the championship against LA Knight at Money in the Bank. His most recent live event match occurred in October 2023.
