Ric Flair Praises Tony Khan's Generosity
“He’s a nice guy, he’s generous. I work for him, and I don’t do anything.— Ric Flair

Ric Flair has spoken about the generosity shown to him by Tony Khan. Flair has remained under contract with AEW since 2023 while making only rare appearances for the promotion.

Flair first joined AEW as part of Sting’s retirement tour and with a sponsorship for his “Wooooo! Energy” drink. Although that sponsorship deal has ended, he continues to be part of the company.

In an interview, Flair described Khan as a nice and generous person who continues to take care of him out of respect. He noted that Khan grew up watching him and called Khan a wonderful guy.

Flair contrasted his experience with AEW to the situation at WWE. He observed that many longtime WWE employees have been let go and expressed uncertainty about the decision-making process there.

At 77 years old, Flair stated that the main difference between WWE and AEW is WWE’s much longer history. He praised Khan’s skills as a promoter and suggested that Khan could be the greatest promoter of all time.

When asked about decision-making in wrestling, Flair said he believes Khan consults with a group of people before making choices, similar to practices at other companies.
