Purrazzo Reveals Planned Title Win For Taylor Wilde

Taylor Wilde returned to IMPACT Wrestling in 2021 after being away from the ring since 2011. During this period, she was set to challenge for the Knockouts Championship.

Deonna Purrazzo revealed that Lucha Libre AAA had scheduled a title-versus-title match for her without the knowledge of TNA's Scott D'Amore. The plan called for Purrazzo to win the bout and become the Reina de Reinas Champion.

The scheduled match between Purrazzo and Wilde was planned for Slammiversary in 2021. Instead, Purrazzo faced a mystery opponent at the event, who turned out to be Thunder Rosa.

Wilde was unaware of the AAA stipulation that had been added to the planned program. Purrazzo expressed willingness to let Wilde win the match and travel to Mexico for the Reina de Reinas Championship bout if that was preferred.

The situation highlighted the respect within the locker room at the time. Purrazzo noted it showed consideration for Wilde as a veteran returning to the promotion.

Wilde has not wrestled since 2023. In her final run with the company, she held the Knockouts World Tag Team Titles alongside KiLynn King.
