Nick Khan reveals WWE's case-by-case film approval process

WWE president Nick Khan has explained that the company evaluates film and television opportunities for its wrestlers individually on a case-by-case basis.
Several current WWE performers have taken on acting roles outside the company. Roman Reigns appears as Akuma and Cody Rhodes plays Guile in the new Street Fighter film, while Hirooki Goto portrays E. Honda.
Other wrestlers have also pursued projects away from the ring. Drew McIntyre has focused on movie work for much of the year, Seth Rollins has appeared on ESPN discussing the NFL, and CM Punk has incorporated acting during his time off.
Khan indicated that WWE supports the Hollywood ambitions of its talent when the opportunities align with company interests. He noted that greater success for wrestlers outside WWE can benefit the company overall.
Both Reigns and Rhodes have earned approval for their external projects according to Khan. The company has structured their contracts to maintain their relationship with WWE even as their profiles grow in entertainment.
