MJF Targets NJPW in Fiery TV Return

MJF appeared on pro wrestling television this week in a taped segment for New Japan Pro Wrestling rather than AEW. He had not competed in an AEW match since participating in the Casino Gauntlet Match at the All In pay-per-view in August.
MJF gained an early advantage in the gauntlet as one of the first entrants but ultimately lost to Andrade El Idolo. That result granted Andrade a future world title opportunity at a time of his choosing.
Following a short break before All In, MJF returned to AEW and began referring to himself as the real world champion. He had held the title earlier in the summer before losing it to Kenny Omega in a match that involved interference from current champion Will Ospreay, whom MJF continues to blame.
Despite the ongoing issues in AEW, MJF chose to target New Japan Pro Wrestling. In the taped appearance during a Road to King of Pro Wrestling event, he declared war on the promotion.
MJF issued a direct challenge to this year's G1 Climax winner, Ryohei Oiwa. The proposed match would be for the unofficial AEW World Championship and to determine the master of the headlock.
