Meltzer Criticizes WWE For Proceeding With Crown Jewel

WWE plans to hold its Crown Jewel event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 7 despite ongoing attacks from Iran and Houthi forces from Yemen.

The US State Department has issued memos warning that Americans could be targeted in the region in the coming weeks.

Dave Meltzer discussed the situation on Wrestling Observer Radio and stated that it is a terrible look for WWE to proceed with the show in Saudi Arabia at this time.

Meltzer noted that while many already understand the nature of the situation, recent events make it harder to deny.

He added that the current leadership of the company is wired to prioritize money above all else and would likely proceed with the event even under extreme circumstances.

Meltzer also observed that former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon would have refused to hold the event in Saudi Arabia under these conditions.
