In 1997, a 23-year-old Matt Hardy attended WWE's Badd Blood: In Your House and watched the first-ever Hell in a Cell match between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels from a unique vantage point. On his "The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy" podcast, Hardy said he was impressed as Michaels performed on another level while The Undertaker avoided simply dominating his opponent as he often did. Hardy added that seeing Kane make his monstrous debut during the bout left a lasting impression.
