Kit Wilson Praises WWE Main Event as Sleeper Hit
“Main Event's always the little sleeper hit of a show; you know, it's not got the main stories that maybe Raw and SmackDown do, but it's got the superstars that you want to see, that you don't always see, attracting, fighting with, going against superstars that you want to see them go against.— Kit Wilson
Kit Wilson has praised WWE Main Event as a sleeper hit while discussing his transition to singles competition. Wilson has been appearing prominently on WWE SmackDown alongside The Miz and has also competed on other shows including Main Event. The show is now airing on the Rumble platform, a move Wilson addressed in an interview with The Sportster.
He stated that WWE is expanding and growing onto the new platform of Rumble. Wilson described Main Event as always being the little sleeper hit of a show that lacks the main storylines of Raw and SmackDown. According to Wilson, the show features superstars that fans want to see in matches against opponents they want to see them face, calling it exciting stuff.
Wilson explained that Main Event helped him after his tag team partner Elton Prince suffered an injury, leaving him lost as he had never competed in singles matches in WWE. He noted that Main Event served as the platform for him to find himself as a singles performer.
Wilson said he got to wrestle main event-caliber performers including Sheamus, Damian Priest and Shinsuke Nakamura while trying to figure himself out. He added that the show allowed him to experiment with new gear and a new look that he would not have had the chance to try on the main roster shows.
