Eric Bischoff Says Hulk Hogan Lived His Character

“He was in character all the time.— Eric Bischoff
Hulk Hogan became one of WWE's biggest stars with a larger-than-life persona. Eric Bischoff noted that Hogan remained in character constantly and often struggled to separate his real identity from the gimmick.
Bischoff explained that Hogan would appear in public fully as The Hulkster. He said Hogan was never seen as Terry Bollea when approached by fans and lived the character for years.
Bischoff recalled that over time Hogan sometimes lost sight of the distinction between Terry and Hulk. He pointed to a documentary released after Hogan's passing that offered glimpses of the man behind the character.
Tyrus discussed Hogan's many controversies and praised him for owning his mistakes without shifting blame. He observed that Hogan was not perfect and often said the wrong things, like anyone else.
Tyrus highlighted that Hogan faced constant scrutiny and the risk of being recorded at all times. He noted that Hogan could have made excuses for his errors but instead told the truth as he saw it.
As a Black American wrestler, Tyrus called for empathy regarding Hogan's leaked recording. He stressed that wrestlers should be judged on their ability rather than their race.
