Cedric Alexander Wins X-Division Number One Contender Match

Cedric Alexander won a four-way number one contender match on Thursday's episode of TNA Impact. He earned a shot at the X-Division Championship against Amazing Red on next week's show.
The match opened at a fast pace with Alexander striking KC Navarro, Rich Swann, and Fabian Aichner before the commercial break. After the break, Alexander and Swann formed a brief alliance to hit a Doomsday Device on Navarro.
Fabian Aichner landed a moonsault during the bout. Alexander delivered an STO to Swann on the ring apron while Navarro and Aichner executed dives from the ropes onto Swann and Alexander on the floor.
Brian Myers and Bear Bronson interfered by hitting a Roster Cut and Sidewalk Slam on Aichner. This allowed Alexander to connect with a moonsault on Aichner to secure the pinfall victory.
Alexander previously captured the X-Division Championship by defeating Leon Slater in a two-out-of-three-falls match on the May 14 edition of Impact. He held the title for 101 days before losing it back to Slater at Lockdown in August.
Amazing Red won the title for the fourth time in a seven-way scramble match on the same night he was inducted into the Hall of Fame at Bound for Glory. Next week's match will be his first title defense.
