Blake Monroe Questions Herself During Five-Month SmackDown Wait

“I love to work. I love to be out in front of the crowd. I love to win people over, and I can’t do that if I’m not out there.— Blake Monroe
Blake Monroe discussed her five-month wait before debuting on WWE SmackDown during an appearance on Busted Open Radio. She described the delay as frustrating because she was eager to perform in front of the audience and demonstrate her skills. Monroe revealed she experienced moments of self-doubt during that period yet kept pitching ideas and working hard while staying prepared for her chance.
She expressed her passion for working in front of crowds and winning them over, noting she was eager to get out there for those five months and that timing is everything. Monroe said she has achieved things in her career that would not have happened without failing multiple times before in various ways both big and small.
She admitted that after months of training daily, dressing well, developing her character, and generating ideas, she began questioning herself and wondering why it was not happening for her while seeing other women get opportunities. Monroe pointed out there is a natural hunger that can lead to self-questioning but recognized WWE as a large operation with many unpredictable factors such as injuries that can shift plans.
She explained her approach was to show up every week ready with multiple suggestions for the show until one was accepted and now feels she cannot be ignored or kept off television. Monroe stated she did have moments where she questioned herself and wants that to serve as a lesson for others even though she remembered who she is and what she accomplished to reach this point while continuing to work harder.
Monroe had debuted on NXT in June 2025 following a two-year run with AEW. A teaser vignette aired in April to generate anticipation for her main roster arrival.
