Beyond Wrestling May End Weekly Rhode Island Shows

Beyond Wrestling issued a statement on Monday detailing the uncertain future of its weekly Wrestling Open Rhode Island events at Rhodes On The Pawtuxet in Cranston. The promotion's contract with the venue runs through the end of 2026. Unless there is a strong increase in Monday night attendance or sponsor revenue, the final weekly event will take place on December 28, 2026.

The month of November will serve as an evaluation period for the series that launched in March 2025. Drew Cordeiro urged fans who enjoy the shows to tell others, bring friends, and share the promotion's social media posts promoting the events.

Those interested in sponsoring the series can email beyondwrestling@gmail.com for detailed information. Cordeiro noted there remains a possibility of negotiating a new rental agreement for 2027 even without improved attendance. The statement thanked supporters of independent wrestling and specifically the Rhode Island events.

Monday's show marked episode 73 of Wrestling Open RI. Cordeiro described Rhodes On The Pawtuxet in Cranston as the nicest venue Beyond Wrestling has ever run and one with the most fan amenities encountered.
