Andrade Retains AEW National Title Over Ciampa

Andrade El Idolo retained the AEW National Championship by defeating Tommaso Ciampa at WrestleDream. The match took place on Saturday at Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida. Andrade secured the pinfall using The DM.

The contest featured extended striking exchanges along with multiple near falls. Andrade executed the Three Amigos on the floor and followed with a split-legged moonsault inside the ring. Both wrestlers incorporated elements of Andrade's routine of removing his entrance pants during the bout.

Ciampa removed a layer of his gear to reveal trunks with the phrase "I Just Know," referencing Andrade's catchphrase "How you know?" After Andrade removed his pants, he delivered several running double knees and hit Dia de los Muertos for a near fall.

Ciampa answered with a running knee and sent Andrade into a camera operator at ringside before earning another two-count. Ciampa first attempted to bring the title belt into the ring but was stopped by referee Aubrey Edwards. He then introduced a chair, which drew the referee's attention away.

The sequence mirrored events from Wednesday's Dynamite, where Ciampa had used the National title behind the referee's back. This time Andrade reversed the attempt and drove Ciampa onto the championship belt with a DDT. Ciampa kicked out, but Andrade immediately followed with The DM to retain the title.
