Will Ospreay defended his AEW World Title in a Clockwork Carnage match at AEW WrestleDream. He entered first as the initial competitor but avoided elimination until the second stage of the bout.

Ospreay secured the victory at the end of the match by hitting a Hidden Blade on Adam Copeland. He then pinned Copeland for the deciding fall with only two seconds remaining on the clock.
