Tanea Brooks Named I AM ALS Honorary Board Member

Tanea Brooks, known as Rebel, has been named the first-ever I AM ALS Honorary Board Member.

Brooks was diagnosed with ALS in May 2026. She has used social media to share her personal fight against the disease and to raise awareness.

She has served as a public advocate for others with ALS. Brooks fought for Congress to extend the Accelerating Access to Critical Therapies for ALS Act, known as ACT for ALS.

The bill passed, extending federal programs that support ALS research and expanding treatment access for five more years.

Since becoming an I AM ALS Ambassador in June, Brooks has leveraged her platforms to boost visibility of the disease. Her efforts have spread a message of hope and urgency while contributing to recent advocacy successes including the reauthorization of ACT for ALS.

An AEW Dynamite special titled Rebel Heart was held to honor her ongoing battle and to further awareness of ALS.
