Sawyer Defends GCW Title vs Cogar on November 7

During a GCW event, promoter Brett Lauderdale appeared ready to strip Joseph Sawyer of the GCW World Championship. Sawyer then appeared via video screen to respond directly to the situation.
Sawyer acknowledged that some of the criticism directed at him had elements of truth but dismissed much of it as nonsense. He explained that after suffering an injury he was booed by fans and faced online attacks, which left him unwilling to return to GCW.
Sawyer stated he had already paid his dues in the promotion and had no interest in dealing with the ungrateful fanbase or stepping into the locker room. He accused Atticus Cogar of wasting time in GCW while seeking cheap reactions from the crowd.
Despite holding the title, Sawyer declared that he had GCW in a vulnerable position but was not going to avoid a fight. He agreed to defend the GCW World Title against Cogar on November 7 in a no-rules match.
Sawyer added that if he defeats Cogar, he will take the championship with him and depart.
