Sami Zayn and Trick Williams Clash on SmackDown

Sami Zayn arrived at the arena in Sacramento, California for SmackDown accompanied by Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae. Zayn entered the ring and addressed the crowd, reflecting on Money in the Bank and advising Penta to focus on Roman Reigns instead of him.

Zayn announced that he would speak with Roman Reigns face to face on Monday. US Champion Trick Williams then made his entrance and confronted Zayn, stating that the two do not like each other and that Zayn cannot stand him because Williams represents the fans turning against the champion.

Williams called himself a real superstar and a bundle of bad memories for Zayn. He added that Zayn had disrespected him weeks earlier and that he would now beat him as a result.

Zayn reminded Williams that he is the WWE Champion and recounted their previous interaction. He claimed that Williams cannot feel the moment or survive chaos while he himself thrives in it.

Williams challenged Zayn to take a swing if he meant what he said. Johnny Gargano then took the microphone and criticized Williams for receiving opportunities based on his presentation rather than substance, declaring that he would prove his own worth in the ring.

Williams accepted the challenge from Gargano. A referee was called as the segment led into their match later that night.
