Roman Reigns Wishes He Said No More Early In WWE

“I probably would have said no a few more times early on, but I didn't have the equity within the company.— Roman Reigns
Roman Reigns has reflected on his WWE career and identified one key change he would make. He believes he should have been more assertive in his early years by saying no to certain creative ideas more often.
Reigns progressed through WWE's developmental system to become one of the company's top stars. Despite his success, he faced significant fan backlash and ridicule for a prolonged period.
Appearing on Club Shay Shay, Reigns explained that he lacked the necessary standing in the company during his early main event push. At that time, he felt he was still auditioning and building equity, which prevented him from turning down undesirable promos and segments.
He specifically recalled a 2015 promo with Seth Rollins that fans continue to reference critically years later. Reigns noted that even after delivering strong work since then, he remains associated with that moment from over a decade ago.
Reigns estimated there were only a few instances, perhaps two or three promos, segments, or match finishes, where he wishes he had refused to participate. He described wanting the confidence at the time to decline what was asked of him.
